The Temple of Literature, this historical site was built in 1070 and played host to Vietnam’s first national university, the Imperial Academy. Situated south of the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, the temple features a collection of centuries-old halls, statues and pavilions.
A particular highlight is the vast collection of doctors’ stelae, carved with the names and birthplaces of more than 1,300 graduates.
