The month of May marks the start of the Vesak month, which in Buddhism belief is the period for peace to blossom, for people to be enlightened and good wishes to be granted. This is also the time where people embark on more charitable activities, sharing and caring for the underprivileged, to extend the Vesak and Buddha spirits to the society.
The team at InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 continued its tradition to visit the SOS Village in Hanoi, with gifts and daily necessities. Hotel colleagues enthusiastically prepared 100kg of rice and 120 InterContinental Polar Bears, prepared for the orphans and disadvantaged children that take shelter here.
Together with the gifts are over 100 special soap bars, which help improve livelihood and protect children’s health, at a time where personal hygiene is of the utmost importance. The soap is an innovative solution that is recycled from the hotel’s soap slivers, in partnership with Diversey Vietnam.
“We believe in the power of joining forces and bringing good to the community”, shared Robbert Manussen, General Manager. “For the third year, we work with Diversey to recycle soap bars for people in rural areas; those are simple necessities that some people may not have the access to. The Polar Bears that were gifted to the SOS Village’s children also do not come from only the hotel, but guests who bought and donated during last year’s Festive Season.”
