International Women’s Day has marked a day of celebration and advocacy for women’s rights around the world, while recognizing equality and accelerating women’s empowerment at the same time. Focusing on the theme of Choose to Challenge this year, we recognize that challenging the stereotypes can bring awareness and positive change.
The global pandemic has affected every sector across the globe, and the hotel industry is amongst the hardest hit. In light of the global situation, we appreciate the remarkable efforts by our women leaders who manage departments across the hotel to shape the hotel recovery. They take lead and bring insightful perspectives, remarkable determination, and immediate actions to the specific challenges posed by the pandemic.

We are committed to providing women with the support and motivation they need to reach their aspirations. Flexible work scheduling for women returning from motherhood has been implemented. We encourage and develop women in leadership positions through IHG’s RISE Mentoring program, which helps shed light on the need to strengthen women’s leadership, particularly for those aspiring to be General Manager.
