With the mission to build more sustainable communities, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 in partnership with Diversey embarked on Soap for Hope - a global program which does not only divert hundreds of thousands of hotel soap from landfills but also fulfill a local need for hygiene products. A proud partner of the initiative since 2018, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 has since produced and distributed over 1,000 bars of soap made from hotels' soap slivers, while improving the livelihood and hygiene for over 400 people in rural areas of Hanoi and its surrounding provinces.
“We usually take everyday products like soap for granted. I think anyone will be astounded to know that over 7 million children pass away each year from diseases that can be prevented with simple hand washing”, shared Cecilie Nguyen, Executive Assistant Manager. “As the entire world is battling the current pandemic, the hotel team would like to lend a hand and provide something useful to people who need it the most.”
“The Social Protection Center III in Tay Mo, Tu Liem, is home to over 1,000 elders and children without shelter in Hanoi, since their establishment in 1992. The hotel team has been providing support to the center for over 2 years, with frequent visits and donations from within our team and also with our guests”, said Robbert Manussen, General Manager. “For our collaboration with Diversey Vietnam this month, over 200 soap bars and 100 InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 Polar Bears were donated to the elderly and orphans”.
